float vs integer for faders

Post  coupe70 on Tue Mar 26, 2013 10:28 am

Hi Mark,

I just discovered something I find very useful - but I didn't expect that behaviour,
so I would just like to ask if this is intended behaviour or not.

When I set a fader to send integers over OSC it will (at the moment) send a range of 0-127
and will also react to integers from 0 to 127. But it will ALSO react correctly to floats from
0.0 to 1.0.

It also works the other way round - faders set to send/receive floats (0.0-1.0) will also
react to integers (0-127).

So it looks like DAWOSC converts automatically between int and float on input.
As I said I find this very useful and can see nothing bad about this unexpected behaviour
even it is officially kind of 'wrong'...so is it a feature I can rely on or a bug ?

This is the way it's supposed to work (in the current version anyway). DAWOSC converts incoming floats from 0-1 to integers from 1-127.
