Sysex. Learn.

Post  ilyapatt on Mon Jan 27, 2014 6:36 am

The application does not transmit messages sysex the receiving device (Yamaha 01v96). Perhaps the problem in Puredata? In any case, I need to control many parameters on Yamaha through sysex messages. Is that possible? And more.
Is it possible to make a controller with "learn"?

Make sure that the sysex message has spaces between every byte (it should look like this: 04 FA 23 and so on).

Right now, it's not possible to create a controller with a "learn" function, but it's something I'll probably add when I implement NRPN messages.

Tested. Message is made correctly. Does not work.
Good news. How long to wait?

Can you email me your layout so I use it to see what's wrong. My address is  mark @ markderrico.com

I'll try to look at it as soon as I can, but my time is very limited now, so hopefully it'll be in next few days.

I won't be able to start working on this for a few months unfortunately.

Thank you for your help. At the moment, I do not use this function, after an unsuccessful attempt. I will still try. Another question. I need at startup, the application requests the current status of controllers used on the device. How to do it? Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the Yamaha 01v96. In fact, I've never even heard of it until now (I don't use mixers). Do you know what the command is?

Yamaha 01v96 usual midi device. http://www.yamahaproaudio.com/global/en/products/mixers/01v96vcm/index.jsp
Like any other. Some parameters can be assigned to standard MIDI controllers. But not all. Those who can, I'm already using. With your wonderful program!
1. But these parameters on the midi device, already have some value when I run DAWOSC. I need to DAWOSC requested these values in midi device. And set the controllers, in accordance with these Description for.
2. There is a program "Yamaha Studio manager". http://www.yamahaproaudio.com/global/en/downloads/firmware_software/studiomanagerv2host/sm231w.jsp
It controls ALL the parameters of the mixer through sysex. I know how to "Studio manager" sends these messages. I tried to make it out of DAWOSC. I did not get.
Transmission standard controllers I can see in puredata window. And how to see the transfer sysex? I do not see.

And that's what I'm trying to find out. What command does DAWOSC have to send to get the parameter values from the Yamaha mixer? Is it a sysex command? If yes, then what is the command? I'll need that to see what might be wrong. Smile

Also, you won't see the sysex data in the puredata window.
